Position Summary
The Dishwasher supports the culinary team by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while following all food safetyand sanitation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and correctly
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and dish areas
Remove trash and recycling throughout the shift and maintain clean disposal areas
Assist with stocking dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies
Support dining staff with meal service setup and breakdown as needed
Follow infection control, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times
Ensure chemicals and cleaning products are used and stored properly
Assist the culinary team during busy meal periods when appropriate
Maintain organization of storage and dish areas
Report equipment concerns, hazards, or safety issues to leadership immediately
Provide friendly and respectful interactions with residents, families, guests, and team members
Qualifications
Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
Dependable attendance and punctuality required
Food Handler's Card preferred or required per state regulations
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
Ability to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditions
Schedule Expectations
Weekends and holidays may be required
Flexible scheduling based on community needs and meal service times
