Recruitment Number 26-0235Department of Health, DowntownSalary: $3,333 to $4,221 per month (SR-09, Step C to I)ResponsibilitiesParticipate in computing, adjusting and preparing bills involving pro‑rated charges for a variety of services and payers.Determine and verify charges to a variety of medical insurance plans, prepare bills to insurers and/or patients.Check the status of a patient's medical plan for verification.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsLegal Authorization to Work : Citizens, nationals, permanent resident aliens of the United States, or otherwise eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.General Experience : One (1) year of work experience demonstrating ability to perform arithmetic computations, compare data rapidly and accurately, and follow oral and written instructions.Specialized Experience : One (1) year of progressively responsible experience involving the computation and preparation of bills, knowledge of office practices, billing methods, regulations and policies.Substitutions Allowed : Relevant substitutions as described in Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.Testing & SelectionThe examination will be conducted on an assembled basis where the score is based on an evaluation and rating of education and experience. In‑person interviews and/or additional testing may be required at the discretion of the hiring agency.
