Position Overview:

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Human Resources department, with a primaryfocus on onboarding, benefits administration, compliance reporting, and coordination of Learning and Performance Management. This position also serves as a backup resource for recruiting activities and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the HR function by assisting in a variety of HR initiatives and employee support programs.

Essential Functions:

Onboarding & Employee Integration

  • Coordinate and facilitate the new hire onboarding process, including preparing offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, orientation schedules, and benefits enrollment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability.
  • Serve as liaison between employees and benefit providers to address and resolve benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment, benefit plan audits, and benefits communications.
Learning and Performance Management
  • Maintain and update employee training records and compliance certifications.
  • Coordinate internal and external training sessions, workshops, and webinars.
  • Partner with department leaders to monitor training outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in curating training materials, e-learning modules, and job aids.
  • Assist with yearly and quarterly review cycles.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in an HR Generalist, Benefits, or HR Coordinator role.
  • Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, and other employment laws.
Working Conditions:
  • Combination of in-office and remote work (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
