Description

Job Purpose

This position is an entry-level position and will be primarily responsible for basic accounting tasks and assisting senior accounts with month-end procedures, payroll timecard managements, and audit requested tasks pertaining to the established accounting policies and procedures under close supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Entry: posting journal entries, recording daily transactions and updating financial records in accounting software
  • Payroll Processing: review timecard entries and facilitate the payroll processing through 3rd party payroll provider
  • Account Reconciliation and Month-End / Year-End Closing: complete bank reconciliation and account reconciliation as assigned
  • Auditing Support: provide documentation and assistance during internal or external audits as requested
  • Financial Reporting: support the preparation of compliance reports through various systems and programs as needed
  • Data Analysis: perform financial data analysis as directed by senior accountants
  • Other Accounting Functions: be able to support AP/AR and accounting records retentions
  • All other projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and strong understanding of accounting principles GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and any accounting software.
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have an open mind and be willing to learn

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Able to constantly position yourself to maintain files in file cabinets such as reaching with hands and arms, kneeling, crouching, etc.
  • The ability to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information is crucial for this role.
