Kitchen Production Cook - Columbus, OH

The Kitchen Production Cook supports daily kitchen and catering operations by preparing ingredients, producing large batches of food, and ensuring the kitchen is organized and ready for scheduled events. This role is responsible for receiving and storing food supplies, preparing sauces and dressings, and maintaining consistent food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Open and prepare the kitchen for daily operations.

• Receive food products and supplies, verifying deliveries against orders and storage requirements.

• Prepare ingredients and execute large-batch food production for catering events.

• Prepare sauces, dips, dressings, stocks, and other kitchen components.

• Follow established recipes, portion sizes, preparation methods, and quality standards.

• Maintain proper food handling practices, including handwashing, glove use, and safe knife techniques.

• Keep workstations, preparation areas, equipment, and storage spaces clean and sanitary.

• Store food and supplies according to established procedures.

• Assist management and other kitchen team members with additional duties as needed.

• Follow workplace policies, food safety regulations, and building emergency procedures.

• Maintain proper personal hygiene and a clean, appropriate uniform.

• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time to ensure catering events are prepared efficiently.

• Report unsafe conditions and use kitchen equipment and supplies responsibly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Three to five years of professional culinary experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Previous restaurant experience preferred.

• Ability to read and follow recipes, preparation instructions, and written procedures.

• Basic arithmetic skills for measuring ingredients and maintaining portion consistency.

• Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work independently when necessary.

• Willingness to collaborate with kitchen staff and management.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be comfortable standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and occasionally climbing.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Must be comfortable working in warm kitchen conditions and cold storage areas.
