Kitchen Team Leader | Chicago, IL | Full Time | From $17.05 to $18.00 per hour

We are committed to working with community partners to provide solid nutrition for all children in order to help them learn and grow. Collaborating within regional food systems around the Chicago food shed, Gourmet Gorilla works with food hubs, rural farmers, urban agriculturalists, dietitians, nutritionists, talented chefs, and organic food manufacturers. We provide quality ingredients as well as connections and partnerships to educational resources on healthy food curriculum, the value of fresh healthy and sustainable food, garden projects, and ecological awareness.

Duties

• Large scale batch cooking: Particularly Salad, Sandwich and Lunch Box Station

• Manage Team of 2 to 3 people

• Putting together customized lunch boxes to order

Requirements

• Culinary knowledge and experience

• Superior attention to detail

• Experience managing staff & delegating tasks effectively

• Positive attitude, reliable, and flexible

• Fluent in English (bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus)

• Strong communication skills

• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

• Ability to read, write, count and comprehend standard documentation.

Job Details

• Days: Monday through Friday

• Location: Chicago, IL

• Pay: $17.05 /hour starting pay.
