Lead Client Partner, Retail

Role Summary

As a Lead Client Partner at Pinterest, you will serve as a strategic visionary for top-tier Retail client, cultivating trusted relationships through deep expertise in Retail Media and performance advertising. You will independently engage assigned customer accounts to promote Pinterest’s products and develop lower-funnel strategies that drive measurable business outcomes, including traffic, sales, conversion, and customer retention.

By leveraging a nuanced understanding of retail businesses, retail media ecosystems, and client growth priorities, you will meet performance targets, develop new business, expand customer relationships, and resolve specific customer issues. You will guide clients in using Pinterest to turn inspiration into action for millions of Pinners, while building strategic alliances internally and externally. Success in this role depends on your ability to drive substantial revenue growth and a long-term vision for client success in a collaborative, dynamic environment.

What you'll do

Strategic Vision and Partnership Building

• Develop and execute full-funnel sales strategies for top-tier Retail clients, with a particular focus on lower-funnel outcomes including conversion, sales, and retention.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across client and agency stakeholders, including C-suite, Investment, Strategy, Retail Media, Ecommerce, and Activation teams. Organize key educational summits, strategy sessions, and QBRs.
• Build and execute a strategic business plan to drive revenue growth on Pinterest. Secure buy-in from key stakeholders internally and externally, drive accountability through influence, deliver year-over-year growth, and spearhead annual deal conversations.
• Demonstrate executive presence, leadership, and influence by understanding the ins and outs of client businesses, including retail trends, headwinds and tailwinds, business goals, ecommerce priorities, and media KPIs. Challenge the status quo and do not take client directives at face value.

Product Expertise and Market Influence

• Serve as a product expert, providing guidance on the digital and retail media ecosystem and Pinterest’s advertising offerings, with a focus on performance and lower-funnel solutions.
• Develop tailored retail media and performance strategies that leverage industry insights to achieve business goals and drive adoption of Pinterest’s performance media solutions, including search, Shopping, and feed-based ads.
• Stay at the forefront of retail, ecommerce, performance marketing, and measurement trends to identify opportunities and address partner needs.

Internal and External Collaboration

• Spearhead negotiations and develop joint business plans that align to partner goals, maximize lower-funnel impact, and mobilize cross-functional teams to address complex challenges.
• Drive business growth by analyzing partner goals and performance data, delivering data-driven insights, and crafting compelling narratives that guide successful retail media and performance strategies.

Champion Pinterest’s Value

• Champion Pinterest’s value proposition by showcasing impactful lower-funnel and performance metrics, positioning Pinterest as a key driver of retail growth within advertisers’ media mix.
• Proactively identify and communicate opportunities for incremental growth, working closely with clients to expand retail media and performance partnerships.

What we are looking for

• Full-Funnel Advertising Expertise: Strong understanding of media and measurement solutions across brand, consideration, and conversion, with the ability to connect upper-funnel investment to lower-funnel performance.
• Strong Consultative and Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of developing long-term partnerships and effectively negotiating annual partnership agreements, ensuring mutual satisfaction and driving high-value client engagements.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and analytically, leveraging retail, macroeconomic, and performance trends to translate learnings into actionable insights that propel revenue growth.
• Goal- and Results-Oriented Approach: Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve revenue goals while balancing short- and long-term growth objectives. Brings a strategic, results-oriented approach to client and media management that drives sustainable success and mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and collaborative partnership.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as digital media, business, or SaaS sales, or equivalent experience.
• Challenger Mindset: Willingness to challenge and remain persistent with key decision-makers. Client Partners continually evolve relationships with client, agency, retail media, ecommerce, and creative decision-makers; drive weekly accountability through action plans; and find creative solutions where product or capability gaps exist.
• AI Enthusiast: Demonstrates strong curiosity for and practical application of AI to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and elevate client communications, presentations, and recommendations. Uses AI thoughtfully across account strategy and sales motions to uncover insights, sharpen strategic narratives, and show up as a strong, trusted advisor while maintaining sound judgment and a high bar for quality.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

• We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
• This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 2 times per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from our Atlanta office.
