Under the direction of the appropriate manager (Director, Practice Administrator, Operations Manager or Office Manager), supervises and coordinates the day-to-day clinic activities and personnel issues for the back-office staff located in the ambulatory setting. Acts as a liaison with staff, departments/practices and patients.
Responsibilities:Take patient's vital signs. Prepare patients for the provider's care. Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time.
Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician.
Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
Administer basic first aid.
Participates in performance improvement projects.
Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
Qualifications:Experience Requirements:
2 - year's Experience in a physician office required
1 - year Medical Assistant experience in same or similar specialty required
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Certification/Licensure:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required at time of hire
Registered Medical Assistant - Nationally Certified preferred at time of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
Travel: Up to 10%
Supervises: 1-10 Medical Assistant
