    Description

    The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for one or more Adjunct Professors in Accounting, beginning August 2026. These are part-time, non-tenure track teaching appointments.

    The successful candidates will teach one or more sections of ACC 252 (Introduction to Managerial Accounting). Courses are offered at the undergraduate level, and sections may be scheduled during the day or evening.

    Introduction to the role of accounting information systems in measuring performance, influencing employee behavior, and facilitating planning decisions such as what products and services to offer, in which markets, and at what prices.

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
    • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in accounting courses.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    Job Specific Qualifications

    • Significant prior teaching experience at the college/university level.
    • Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
    • Relevant professional or industry experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach assigned sections of ACC 252.
    • Deliver high-quality instruction in person (with possible hybrid or online options as needed).
    • Prepare course materials, assessments, and maintain grading standards consistent with departmental policies.
    • Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
