Responsibilities/Accountabilities

We have an amazing opportunity for Cooks who can:

• Cook foods in a manner that preserves nutrients and produces an attractive, appetizing, and palatable product
• Organize and plan food preparation to coordinate with meal serving hours
• Determine the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus
• Must be able to lift without restrictions
• Complete other duties as assigned

Experience/Skills/Education

Required:

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Able to work weekends
• Must have at least one-year food service experience in a nursing home, hospital or similar healthcare facility
• Must have at least six months of experience cooking in an institutional setting
• Knowledge of large-scale food production equipment is required.

Preferred:

• Some knowledge of special dietary menus
• Previous experience in an institutional food setting
• Exposure to the senior population
• Desire to serve and care for the senior population
