Summary:
The Operating Room Circulator RN is a critical member of the surgical team, responsible for managing patient care throughout the perioperative process. As the primary patient advocate in the OR, the Circulating RN ensures a safe, sterile, and supportive environment, coordinating all aspects of care before, during, and after surgery. This role involves close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, scrub techs, and other perioperative staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Assess, prepare, and position patients for surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Verify surgical consent, patient identity, and site marking according to hospital policies.
Set up the operating room with necessary equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
Monitor and document intraoperative patient care, including vital signs, medication administration, and fluid management.
Maintain a sterile field by managing traffic flow and supporting proper aseptic technique.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and coordinate timely delivery of required items.
Act as a liaison between the surgical team, anesthesia, and other hospital departments.
Provide emotional support and information to patients and families before and after surgery.
Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and adhere to all regulatory and safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience; recent OR circulator experience
CNOR certification is a plus
Strong understanding of surgical asepsis, patient safety, and OR protocols
Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
Type: full-time contract employment 13-14 weeks with possibility to extend.
