About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and perform routine accounting transactions.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Complete monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Review invoices, expense reports, and financial transactions for accuracy.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide requested financial information.
• Analyze financial data and identify potential errors or inconsistencies.
• Follow company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience or equivalent financial operations experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
• Ability to work with cloud-based financial systems and collaboration tools.
• Reliable internet connection and professional remote workspace.
