Description

Camping World is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for our Good Sam business, based at our Chicago, IL Corporate Office. The Senior Accountant provides support and assistance to the accounting team by performing routine and project-based accounting assignments, moderately difficult in nature, requiring a broad knowledge of accounting theory and principles. The Senior Accountant provides support in finance-related areas, development and improvement of processes, and compliance with regulatory and internal policies, rules, and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess accounting and reporting experience and will play a key role in process improvement and development. We are seeking a proactive professional with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned General Ledger accounts, activity and preparation of financial reports, including reconciliation and analysis of account activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

  • Ensure deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met and all accounting and reporting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP.

  • Work closely with other team members to analyze and resolve accounting issues as they arise.

  • Prepare complex journal entries and maintain supporting files and documentation.

  • Reconcile related party and intercompany accounts.

  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding and accrue when necessary.

  • Provide financials for budget/forecast, as needed.

  • Perform moderately complex work requiring independent judgement and practical application of accounting standards.

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.

  • Enhance and streamline daily as well as month-end accounting processes, as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Controller, Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager to develop processes and controls to ensure clean and accurate financial reporting.

  • Provide support for accounting projects and financial system implementations.

  • Provide support to auditors, as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience.

  • Prior experience at a Big 4 or regional firm is advantageous.

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or a related field.

  • CPA or MBA is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to use problem solving skills and be a "go-getter".

  • Effective communication skills for team members across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Willingness to travel to LA office, as needed.

The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.

Pay Range:

$71,600.00-$109,700.00 Annual
