Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Hunt Valley, MD.

Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations with a primary focus on general ledger activities, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Accountant partners closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Senior Accountant will own and execute key aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries
• Perform balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages
• Assist with audit requests, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and proper accounting treatment
• As a Senior Accountant, you will partner cross-functionally with AP, AR, Payroll, and Operations to resolve accounting issues
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
• Support special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed
• Reporting Structure: Reports to Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller
