Senior Accountant – New Milford, CT
Target Compensation: 70k - 90k
A growing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Senior Accountant who enjoys owning the month-end close process, performing account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting in a collaborative environment.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting functions, and providing financial insights to leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
- Prepare supporting schedules and account analyses
- Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with audit preparation and external auditor requests
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and operational initiatives
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ERP system experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
