Job Description:
The Smokehouse Line Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating dishes according to Smokin' Jack BBQ’s high standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a passion for BBQ and smoked flavors. You’ll work alongside our kitchen team to deliver consistent, top-quality meals while keeping the kitchen organized and efficient.

Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking:

  • Prepare and cook smoked meats, sides, and other menu items with precision and consistency.
  • Master the art of grilling, smoking, and carving meats to perfection.
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure quality and minimize waste.

Station Management:

  • Maintain an organized and clean station throughout service.
  • Ensure all food prep and cooking areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor the quality and presentation of every dish before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Handle customer modifications or special requests with attention to detail.

Kitchen Support:

  • Assist in prepping ingredients, sauces, and sides to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
  • Support inventory management by notifying the team of low stock or ingredient needs.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience as a line cook or similar role (BBQ or smoked meat experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of grilling, smoking, and general cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
