Tesla is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Supply Chain Legal Team supporting procurement operations for goods and services. This role will be based in one of Teslas offices in Austin Texas or the Bay Area California. The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial lawyer with a passion for accelerating the worlds transition to sustainable energy. This position offers a unique opportunity for a proactive and entrepreneurial lawyer to contribute to a fast-growing dynamic company by providing strategic legal support and fostering collaboration across global teams.

Manage a high volume and wide range of commercial contracts including semiconductor-related supply agreements technology licensing agreements development agreements services agreements including cloud-based services software license agreements and confidentiality agreements

Provide advice on a wide variety of strategic regulatory and transactional matters for the supply chain team and other internal teams

Facilitate resolution of legal disputes by drafting and responding to breach of contract claims and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements

Prepare and maintain contract forms to support Teslas businesses and areas of operation

Liaise with colleagues worldwide to ensure consistency of contracts and risk allocation across various Tesla businesses

J.D. with current license to practice in at least one U.S. state or Washington DC

Minimum of 8 years of practice experience with a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred

Excellent communication skills with business-level to near native-level fluency in English verbal and written with Spanish German and additional languages as a plus

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively identify problems drive projects make complex costbenefit assessments and identify pragmatic and creative legal and business solutions

Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced challenging environment

Quick and flexible learner with strong analytical skills intellectual curiosity adaptability and comfort with ambiguity and risk

High standards impeccable integrity ethical conduct and sound judgment
