The NA Staff Accountant is a key member of our growing North America NA accounting organization. You will form the foundation of our monthly accounting close and have a seat at the table as we scale our systems and processes. Reporting to the US Accounting Manager, you are a self-starter with strong attention to detail, possess a process improvement mindset, and are comfortable with ambiguity. What youll do
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed timely.
Apply ASC 606 standards to our revenue streams, managing deferred revenue and complex contract terms.
Prepare monthly financial statements for management review.
Assist with the transition of our accounting function from an outsourcing to an in-sourcing model.
Assist with the implementation and testing of new accounting systems and with the development of a SOX framework.
Own Accounts Receivable AR and assist with payroll as needed.
Assist in managing equity-based compensation accounting and cap table maintenance via platforms like Carta.
Monitor state nexus and ensure compliance with sales tax and franchise tax filings.
Prepare schedules and provide support for external audits.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as needed.

Industry-seasoned, has already spent time supporting the electric power and cleantech industries.
Self-starter willing to dig into new concepts, make recommendations with limited information, and be highly effective with minimal direction and supervision.
Systems thinker, a love for efficiency, ensuring that processes work well together to streamline commercial operations.
Focused, we are a small team with many competing priorities. To be effective in this role, you need to be able to isolate where you can have the greatest impact and rigorously prioritize.
Willingness to travel, we operate throughout the United States, Canada, India, and Australia, and employees are required to travel from time to time.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree in finance or accounting.
4 years of relevant accounting experience with a solid foundation in US GAAP and Series A startup experience is the gold standard for this role.
Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting and accounting operations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on accuracy.
Interest in leveraging new technologies and automation to drive efficiency.
Manufacturing & Project Accounting experience are a plus.
