Candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, have excellent organizational skills, strong accounts receivable and journal entry experience and be a great communicator, both written and verbal.OverviewThis position will focus on a multitude of accounting related items, including responsibility for account entries, payments and finances for the company. Handling and recording internal financial transactions.Essential FunctionsProcess sales tax filings for states accurately and timelyApply for new sales tax accounts for new stores as neededRenew state licenses yearlyReconcile corporate bank statements monthlyReconcile employee store bank accounts monthlyFile Census Bureau reports and other governmental reportsRecord monthly journal entriesAssist with tracking of operator security deposits and fixture feesAnalyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting proceduresAssist the accounting leadership with audits and other accounting functionsReconciling accounts with the general ledgerPrepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trendsOther duties as assignedQualifications/Basic Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting preferred or cumulative relevant experience2-3 years' experience in an Accountant roleMust have experience in accounts receivable and journal entryMulti-company GL experience preferredAttention to detail and organization skills a mustAbility and willingness to keep and maintain confidentialityStrong communication skillsAbility to multi-task and work in a fast paced and high stress environmentAdvanced computer skills including Word, Excel and OutlookRetail accounting experience is a plusTeam player, self-sstarter, and professionalAbility to work overtime during seasonal monthsStrong Excel and MS productsBenefits and perksMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term & Long-Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)A generous employee discount to our retail storesBonus opportunitiesVery relaxed dress codeStrong 401K MatchGenerous PTO programPaid maternity leaveBirthday Day OffOther fun perksGreat working environment and teamOpen door environmentFamily atmosphereGood place to work and plan your careerCompany fun eventsService Award recognitionsThis job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this position.
