Staff Accountant

Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid)
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + Benefits

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing investment-focused organization seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their collaborative team. This role offers broad exposure across multiple entities and the opportunity to work closely with leadership while supporting core accounting and financial reporting functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
• Support audits and provide requested schedules
• Identify process improvements and drive efficiencies
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations
• Month-end close experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Sage Intacct experience
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Background in investment, real estate, public accounting, or corporate accounting environments
