Job Overview - Staff Accountant - 34525
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a variety of accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, compliance activities, and month-end close processes. This role will work cross-functionally with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely payments, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Perform month-end close activities and ensure assigned balance sheet accounts are accurately maintained and reconciled.
- Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and research variances to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review and interpret contractual agreements and supporting documentation to ensure proper accounting treatment and adherence to established requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Operations, and Finance to resolve accounting-related issues.
- Prepare payments, supporting documentation, and financial reports in accordance with established guidelines.
- Audit financial transactions and data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls.
- Provide exceptional customer service and act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP experience is a plus.
