    Description

    Overview A top manufacturing leader with global ties in the defense sector is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support the company's accounting operations by contributing to accurate accounting management, reporting, and compliance activities across multiple business units. This position partners with internal departments to support operational and accounting objectives, improve processes, and ensure the reliability of financial data. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt in a multi-system, deadline-oriented environment.This position will be located in the greater Jacksonville, FL area. Domestic travel may be required.Essential Functions Process payroll and perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries (intercompany and cost allocations) and assisting with month-end and year-end close processesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting through periodic reconciliations and subledger supportSupport corporate tax requests, annual audit schedules, and provide required documentation for external auditorsEnsure accounting records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standardsAssist Finance with data analysis, reporting, special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc accounting supportConduct research and collaborate with various departments to support accounting initiatives and process improvements.Other duties as assignedRequired Skills Must have ability to operate within two ERP systems (Sage, Epicor)Must have ability to provide accurate processing and reporting across both ERP systems and business unitsMust have strong analytical and reconciliation skillsMust have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skillsMust have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skillsMust have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanorMust adhere to policies established by the company and maintain a high level of safety awarenessEducation and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceExperience in manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environments preferredExperience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) preferredPhysical Demands and Work Environment While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands and arms to grasp, reach and type; stoop or kneel; and speak or hear.
