Staff Accountant (Contract)

LHH is partnering with a well-established company in the Lake Zurich area seeking a contract Staff Accountant to support key accounting and finance functions during a period of growth. What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports and schedules for management
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience
• CPA or CPA-track candidate
