Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains general ledger integrity, assists with month-end close processes, and supports compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the fixed asset subledger, including CIP tracking, asset capitalization, disposals, depreciation, monthly reconciliations, and related journal entries.
  • Manage accounts receivable and cash application processes, including posting customer payments, issuing credits, and reconciling accounts
  • Prepare standard and adjusting journal entries to support the month end close
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies timely
  • Prepare monthly sales & use tax filings with support from Tax Department
  • Process purchasing card and T&E card requests and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Assist with year-end audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (including internships)
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required
