Corporate Task Force Director of Finance

We are seeking highly motivated, analytical, and adaptable hospitality finance leaders to join our Corporate Task Force team as a Director of Finance. This role provides temporary on-property and regional support for hotels and resorts across the portfolio, assisting with leadership transitions, operational challenges, financial turnaround initiatives, new property openings, system implementations, acquisitions, and special projects.

The ideal candidate is an experienced hotel finance professional with a proven track record of driving financial performance, strengthening controls, leading teams through change, and partnering with operations to maximize profitability and owner returns. Successful candidates are confident leaders, problem solvers, and collaborative business partners who thrive in fast-paced environments and can quickly integrate into diverse hotel operations.

Your Role

  • Serve as the senior financial leader during task force assignments at hotels and resorts across the portfolio.
  • Oversee all aspects of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and compliance.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, revenue flow-through, cost controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with General Managers, Area Leaders, and Corporate Finance teams to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Support property transitions, leadership vacancies, acquisitions, openings, and special projects requiring interim finance leadership.
  • Review internal controls and accounting processes, implementing improvements and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor labor costs, departmental expenses, capital expenditures, and working capital management.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including variance analysis and business planning.
  • Oversee hotel banking, cash controls, account reconciliations, audits, tax compliance, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop on-property accounting and finance team members.
  • Facilitate external and internal audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Support system conversions, financial process improvements, and property-level training initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level financial presentations and communicate performance trends to stakeholders.
  • Stay current on hospitality finance trends, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
  • Travel extensively and provide on-site support based on business needs and assignment requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive hospitality finance leadership experience, including Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, or equivalent hotel accounting leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Experience leading finance teams in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to assess operational and financial performance and implement effective solutions quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively and work on-site for temporary assignments as needed.

Preferred

  • Multi-property, regional, or corporate hospitality finance experience.
  • Experience with hotel accounting systems such as M3, BirchStreet, Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Blackline, or similar platforms.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Previous task force, opening, conversion, transition, or turnaround experience.
  • Experience supporting branded or independent hotels and resorts.

Employment Status & Benefits

Task Force roles are classified as temporary, full-time positions. Temporary employees are not eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, or bonus programs.

Compensation

Task Force assignments are compensated on a weekly rate basis and paid biweekly or in accordance with the property's payroll schedule. Compensation is determined based on role level, scope, location, and assignment complexity.

The pay range for this position is $2,000-$4,000 per week, depending on assignment level and property complexity. Actual compensation will be confirmed at the time of assignment.
