Global Safety and Security Technology Project Coordinator
Location: US - Remote
About the Role
The Global Safety & Security Technology Project Coordinator supports the planning, design, coordination, and execution of physical security technology projects across all physical Wayfair sites. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, architects, construction teams, vendors, and security integrators to deliver scalable security solutions that support Wayfairs business and operational needs.
The position is responsible for coordinating the security technology scope throughout the project lifecycle, including developing layouts and design documentation as well as supporting procurement, implementation, commissioning, and project closeout. The role also supports hardware lifecycle planning, documentation, and technology standardization initiatives across the Global Safety & Security organization.

What You'll Do
Security Systems Design & Planning
Develop security system layouts, device schedules, redline markups, and supporting documentation for new construction, renovation, and technology lifecycle projects.
Translate business and operational requirements into practical security system designs while following established company standards and design guidelines.
Review architectural, electrical, and construction drawings to identify security system requirements and coordinate design integration.
Assist in developing construction drawings, bills of material (BOMs), scope of work documentation, and equipment specifications.
Participate in internal and external design reviews, providing recommendations and coordinating updates throughout project development.
Coordinate with vendors, security integrators, and contractors to ensure project deliverables align with approved designs, schedules, and company standards.
Technology Standards & Lifecycle Management
Support hardware lifecycle planning and replacement initiatives for CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and supporting infrastructure.
Maintain equipment standards, design templates, documentation, estimate databases, and typical bills of material to improve consistency and project efficiency.
Assist with project budgeting, cost estimating, capital planning, and tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.
Identify opportunities to improve design standards, documentation, workflows, and project delivery processes across the Global Safety & Security program.
Operational & Technical Support
Develop technical knowledge of Wayfairs physical security technologies through training, project experience, and collaboration with senior team members.
Perform system administration, troubleshooting, training, and technical support activities as business needs require.
Support system testing, commissioning, acceptance, punch list resolution, and project closeout activities to ensure installations meet operational expectations.
Contribute to SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation that improve knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
Provide regular project status updates to internal stakeholders, escalate risks or issues, and coordinate resolution to support successful project delivery.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the Global Safety & Security organization.
What You'll Need
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
2-4 years of experience in project coordination, construction, facilities, engineering support, technical operations, low-voltage systems, or a related field.
Experience coordinating technical projects involving multiple stakeholders and external vendors.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical documentation, or project specifications.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business priorities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action, adaptability to ambiguity, and a focus on delivering results.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling security matters.
Strong business acumen, able to work within a budget and demonstrate sound decision-making capabilities.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to gain stakeholder buy-in and navigate a complex organization.
Ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S. and globally as required.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting or standing).
Ability to move about within an office, store, or warehouse environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with physical security technologies including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, or related low-voltage systems.
Experience or willingness to work on lifts and at height.
Experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, or similar design and markup software.
Familiarity with construction project delivery, facilities infrastructure, or building systems.
Experience creating or maintaining technical documentation, bills of material (BOMs), or design standards.
Exposure to enterprise security platforms such as LenelS2, ExacqVision, Mileston, or similar systems.
Experience leveraging AI tools to improve documentation, research, project coordination, communication, or workflow efficiency.
