American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active NY license, Epic experience, and prior charge experience.

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios required
• Epic charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted if patient ratio experience requirement is met

Additional Information

• Provide care for medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients on a high-volume unit
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilize Rapid Response/Code teams
• Manage pacemakers (temporary/permanent), central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy and IV starts
• Administer blood products and manage Heparin protocols and non-titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Provide respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Manage tracheostomy care, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Care for ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients, including surgical drain management
• Manage feeding tubes and renal failure patients
• Scrub color requirement: navy on bottom, navy or white on top
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Floating is required
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• No more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted
• Returning staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before reapplying
