    Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

    Location

    Redding, CA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM start) | 3 shifts per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a critical care stepdown/PCU unit with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing patients transitioning from the ICU who require closer monitoring than a telemetry level of care
    • Monitor and manage arterial lines, CVP pressure lines, and tracheostomy patients, including stable vented patients
    • Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips including Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and Levophed per physician orders and unit protocols
    • Care for a diverse patient population including TBI/trauma, post-major surgery, CEA, and sepsis patients
    • Adhere to HCAHPS standards and core measures to support an exceptional patient experience
    • Float to Telemetry or Med-Surg units as needed; expected to be first to float
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in the state of California
    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a PCU, ICU stepdown, or critical care stepdown setting
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
    • Demonstrated experience titrating drips and managing high-risk medications
    • Proficiency with arterial and CVP pressure lines and management of stable vented/trach patients
    • Strong understanding of HCAHPS and core measures
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with telemetry monitoring and training
    • First-time travelers welcome; must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
    • Familiarity with block and self-scheduling models
