Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,752 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year Med/Tele experience preferred License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills Experience managing PCA pumps, surgical drains, wound care, and TR bands Comfortable with Cardizem, Nitro, and Amiodarone infusions Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in MedSurg/Tele. This position involves caring for a variety of MedSurg patients. Common diagnoses include diabetes, respiratory illnesses, GI illnesses, neuro surgeries, trauma surgeries, and spinal precautions. Candidates will manage cardiac and CT surgery pre- and post-operative patients. The expected patient ratio is 1 RN to 5 patients and 1 CNA to 10 patients. The RN will receive support from CNAs for vital signs, blood glucose checks, and assistance with safety rounds and activities of daily living. Our department is staffed with 24/7 hospitalists and intensivists. Telemetry monitoring will be performed by bedside RNs, who will read and interpret cardiac strips. Unit specific equipment includes external fixators, chest tubes, PCAs, and complex wound care. Candidates should be comfortable starting their own IVs. The facility utilizes an electronic medical record system and various medical equipment for patient care.
