Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,876 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 1 year MedSurg/Tele experience preferred License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation PCA pump management Wound care skills Experience with surgical drains Comfort with managing specific medications Description: Registered Nurse position in a MedSurg/Tele environment. The unit has 10 beds and an average patient census of 8. Patient types include a variety of MedSurg conditions such as diabetes, respiratory illnesses, GI illnesses, neuro surgeries, and trauma surgeries. The RN will manage pre-CT surgery patients, cardiac surgery patients, and clean cath lab patients. Patient ratios are RN: 1:5 and CNA: 1:10. Support within the department includes a CNA for vital sign and blood glucose checks, assistance with safety rounds, and activities of daily living. Phlebotomy services for peripheral blood draws are available. RT services are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is performed by the bedside RN who will read and interpret cardiac strips. Unit specific equipment includes external fixators, chest tubes, PCAs, trachs, and equipment for complex wound care. The culture is friendly and supports an academic environment.
