Treasury & Financial Reporting Manager

We were recently engaged in a new search for a Treasury & Financial Reporting Manager position with a transportation infrastructure solutions company based in Detroit, MI.

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, data analytics, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Demonstrated data-analysis experience, including data extraction, cleansing, reconciliation, trend and variance analysis, root-cause analysis, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights and recommendations.

• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and reporting consistency.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Project management experience is a plus

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting using business intelligence tools; Power BI experience is preferred.

• Strong SQL experience is required, including writing complex queries using joins, aggregations, subqueries/CTEs, conditional logic, and data-validation techniques, with a working knowledge of relational databases and data structures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage treasury functions for debt compliance and funding arrangements to optimize financial stability, which includes:

  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts, bank funding certificates, and periodic cash and debt forecasts to support funding requirements and strategic decision-making.

  • Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity to optimize working capital and cash reserves.

  • Make formal recommendations for biannual and other periodic intercompany settlements as part of cash forecasting.

  • Prepare quarterly debt covenant calculations.

  • Develop and maintain treasury policies and procedures following formal recommendation and approval.

  • Automate cash management and reporting processes for the Treasury function.

  • Maintain the treasury management system.

  • Perform periodic reviews and analyses of interest rates, bank fees, credit card fees, and currency exchange rates.

• Use SQL to query, join, aggregate, validate, and extract data from financial, toll, and operational systems for recurring and ad hoc management reporting.

• Develop, maintain, and document reusable SQL queries and data extracts used for management reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, and decision support.

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, variances, anomalies, root causes, and key business drivers; prepare cost-benefit and other financial/operational analyses; and communicate findings clearly to management.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across source systems and reports.

• Create and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and analytical reports using advanced Excel and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
