Overview:

Concern Worldwide is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to tackling poverty and suffering in the world’s poorest countries. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources (VP, HR) to lead our global HR function. Based in London, the VP, HR will play a critical role in shaping and executing HR strategy that aligns with our mission, promotes a high-performance culture, and supports our people working in challenging and rewarding environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring our global teams are supported, empowered, and inspired.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with organizational goals and humanitarian principles.

    • Serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership team on people-related matters.

    • Lead organizational change initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

  • Talent Management & Development

    • Oversee global talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse and skilled professionals.

    • Drive leadership development, succession planning, and career progression initiatives.

    • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in all HR practices.

  • Employee Relations & Wellbeing

    • Foster a supportive, respectful, and safe workplace culture across all Concern Worldwide locations.

    • Develop policies and practices that support employee wellbeing and resilience, particularly in high-risk environments.

    • Ensure fair, transparent, and effective mechanisms for conflict resolution and grievance management.

  • HR Operations & Compliance

    • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local labor laws and international standards.

    • Lead global HR systems and processes, including performance management, compensation, and benefits.

    • Monitor and evaluate HR metrics and use data-driven insights to enhance decision-making.

  • Global Collaboration

    • Build strong partnerships with HR leads across Concern’s country offices and regional hubs.

    • Provide support and guidance on HR capacity-building initiatives and humanitarian staff deployment.

    • Represent Concern Worldwide at global HR forums and sector-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in the non-profit or international development/humanitarian sector.

    • Demonstrated experience working in multicultural and complex global environments.

  • Skills & Competencies

    • Strong strategic thinking and organizational leadership skills.

    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.

    • Proven ability to lead change and build high-performing teams.

    • Deep understanding of HR compliance, labor law, and global HR best practices.

    • Commitment to Concern Worldwide’s values, including respect, integrity, partnership, and accountability.

  • Other Requirements

    • Willingness to travel internationally, including to field locations (up to 25% of the time).

    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
