Material handlers involved in this process will receive introductory and annual training related to the following topics: hazards of hazardous waste generated at the site, safe handling methods for transportation, inspection methods of containers prior to transport, spill prevention methods to be utilized during transport and at hazardous waste compound, emergency procedures for spilled hazardous waste drum, proper labeling and dating of containers, storage requirements, spill reporting and emergency evacuation procedures, and containment procedures. May operate forklift trucks, order pickers, overhead cranes, side-loaders, Combi-lift, jockey trucks, stacker cranes, or any other material handling equipment as necessary to lift, transport, store, and position a variety of raw, semi-finished, and purchased parts, components, materials, and items.
