Forklift Loader-Second Shift

Reports to: Materials Manager </strong><br/>
 <br/><strong>GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:</strong><br/>
Operate forklift in a safe and responsible manner inside warehouses and receiving yards. Load & unload vans and flatbeds, issue packaging & raw products to production while following FIFO rules and maintaining  trace documentation.<br/><br/><strong>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:</strong><br/>
•    Drive and operate forklift, safely.<br/>
•    Prior experience in loading and unloading of trailers.<br/>
•    Must pass company written and practical forklift operator test.  <br/>
•    Ability to complete trailer inspections for outbound and inbound deliveries.<br/>
•    Ability to verify and document incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy.<br/>
•    Competency in operation of dock door controls, ramp, and safely secure trailers in docks with appropriate locks.<br/>
•    Inspect and document arriving loads for seal integrity, possible contaminants, damage & temperature. <br/>
•    Load & unload vans and flatbeds.<br/>
•    Issue and return packaging & raw products to production while following FIFO rules.<br/>
•    Use company trace and tracking forms & scanners to maintaining traceback of materials issued and returned. <br/>
•    Able to work around equipment and machinery</div><div style="text-align:left">•  Employee must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)</div><div style="text-align:left">•  Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of management.<br/><br/><strong>JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:</strong><br/>
•    Should be able to work in a fast pace production environment.<br/>
•    Previous Forklift experience is preferred.<br/><br/><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </strong><br/>
Work is performed in an exterior environment exposed to elements of cold and heat but may also work inside plant where environment is cold with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present.  Work surfaces and floors are wet.  Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted up to ½ of the workday, and 20 lbs overhead as job demands.
