General:Maintenance Technician (multi-craft) supports the mechanical & minor electrical equipment needs of a state-of-the-art turkey processing plant.  The role willingly seeks knowledge and responsibilities of multi-craft in mechanical / electrical fields. The position reports to the maintenance supervisor w/ primary work schedule of Mon. - Fri. (1st , 2nd, OR 3rd shift) with flexibility to work early/ late shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed.  Specific Duties / Responsibilities: <ul><li>Routinely apply working knowledge of facility equipment and processes to monitor and troubleshoot equipment mechanical and minor electrical-related failures to minimize downtime and improve yield</li><li>Employ mechanical & electrical preventative maintenance (PM) during down days and overnight</li><li>Proactively use knowledge of VFD’s, AC/DC circuits, motors, pumps, rotating equipment, electrical, piping, etc. to address operating problems. </li><li>Partner with operations in set up /teardown and operation of equipment prior to shift start through shift end. </li><li>Work with sanitation during equipment start-up & operation for cleaning & sanitizing. </li><li>Ensure compliance with state / federal regulations & code; promote a safe work environment for self and others.</li><li>Assist co-workers with repairs and willingly share knowledge with others</li><li>Work with minimal supervision; Investigate and bring improvement suggestions forward</li><li>Maintain regulatory & quality compliance w/ USDA & other food safety requirements</li><li>Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. </li></ul>RequirementsEducation: <ul><li>GED (Min.);Associates degree (preferred / not required) Mechanical & Electrical coursework / certificate (preferred)</li></ul>Experience: <ul><li>Min. of 2 years of maintenance technician work experience in related field</li></ul>Skills/Abilities/Attributes:<ul><li>Working knowledge of mechanical & minor electrical systems </li><li>Solid understanding of electrical code and regulations (preferred/ not required)</li><li>Detailed-oriented; able to work in fast-paced environment w/ minimal supervision</li><li>Self-directed, team player w/ good initiative, communication and interpersonal skills;</li><li>Problem-solver; fast technical learner; </li></ul>Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.</li><li>Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop up to 10 hrs./shift</li><li>Able to work from 6+ feet of height </li><li>Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment e.g. 35-40 / 100 degrees</li><li>Exposure to low & high voltage equipment & conveying systems</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)</li><li>Retirement Plan (401k)</li><li>Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)</li><li>Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)</li><li>Wellness Resources</li></ul>
