The legal services provided include prime contract negotiation, drafting and negotiation of legal agreements (e.g., licenses, Memorandum of Understanding's, Cooperative Research And Development Agreement's, copyrights, teaming agreements, leases, etc.), employee and labor relations, Export Controls, Environmental Safety & Health regulatory compliance, protection of intellectual property rights, litigation support, client counseling, and retention and management of outside counsel. They will be capable of handling patent matters, including for example, determining patentability of reported inventions and coordinating the patent preparation and prosecution of patent applications filed with the USPTO to obtain the broadest possible patent protection for the technology transfer of inventions arising out of research conducted at BNL.
