RNs may be floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/ Step Down Unit (SDU) and/or any lower level of care as needed to care for patients who are acutely ill with a variety of medical conditions such as recovering from surgery, and have a variety of other medical needs, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations. RNs will be conducting comprehensive patient assessments, managing high-acuity critical care cases, participating in cardiac resuscitations and emergency response events, administering medications and blood products, operating and monitoring advanced life-support equipment.
