Knowledge of local hospitals and Medical Center EMS policies, procedures, standing orders, protocols, area locale, radio communication procedures, emergency and medical agencies, pharmacology, admixtures, solutions and concentrations as acquired through a minimum of 4-6 week orientation program and at the discretion of the Director. Determine the extent of illness or injury by performing patient assessment, recognize and interpret vital signs and other symptoms, report findings to an authorized Emergency Department/Trauma Center Registered Nurse and/or physician, and request orders for appropriate treatment protocol.
