Perform specialty specific procedures including but not limited to: Arterial/venous blood sampling, thoracentesis, arterial and venous catheter placement, placement of central venous lines/acute dialysis catheters/PA catheters, intubation, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, joint aspiration, placement of NG/feeding tubes, aspiration of subcutaneous fluid collections, bladder catheterizations, and performing portable ultrasound. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the attending for inpatient and outpatient services, perform evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory studies relevant to the patient’s medical problem, and supervise housestaff and midlevel providers and assist with their evaluation and management of patients.
