<div> Job Summary:   The Payment/Accounts Receivable Supervisor manages all functions of the organization’s billing and accounts receivable to maximize cash flow while maintaining and improving internal and external customer relations. In conjunction with billing specialists, this position will contribute to the day-to day operations on all issues related to the revenue cycle function, provide analysis, create written processes and train others in implementing a cross functional revenue cycle team. In addition to billing and reimbursement expertise, this position requires a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented person, with superior critical thinking and communication skills.   Key Essential Job Responsibilities:   <ul><li> </li><li>Accomplishes billing human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.</li><li> </li><li>Meets billing operational standards by contributing billing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying billing system improvements.</li><li> </li><li>Meets billing financial standards by providing annual billing budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.</li><li> </li><li>Accomplishes billing departmental objectives by measuring billing results against plans; evaluating and improving methods; making required changes.</li><li> </li><li>Guides employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating billing policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.</li><li> </li><li>Reconciliation oversight of ERAs, EFTs, payment posting, bank deposits and bank statement. </li><li> </li><li>Reviews, manages, and audits cash boxes and TOS collections. </li><li> </li><li>Approves credit/refund requests by reviewing documentation.</li><li> </li><li>Reviews and provides oversight of credit card terminals. </li><li> </li><li>Reviews, manages accounts receivable including but not limited to insurance follow up and rejections, statement and credit reports, and collection accounts.</li><li> </li><li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.</li><li> </li><li>Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.</li><li> </li><li>Plan and implement reimbursement strategies, which maximize revenue and efficiency. </li><li> </li><li>Monitor and develop policies and procedures for reimbursement of claims. </li><li> </li><li>Other duties as assigned</li><li> </li></ul>   Required qualifications to be successful in this role:   <ul><li> </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of medical billing experience preferred</li><li> </li><li>Healthcare Administration or business degree is preferred</li><li> </li><li>Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and third party payer regulations and medical terminology required</li><li> </li><li>Working knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to health care operations and their impact on operations</li><li> </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions</li><li> </li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li> </li><li>Medical Billing knowledge/experience preferred</li><li> </li><li>Auditing (Billing Specialists)</li><li> </li></ul>   </div>

This position could be based in our Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV, Charlotte, Portland, and Sacramento offices. The shift for this position in the Wheeling, WV and Charlotte office locations is 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST.  

Responsibilities:
What responsibilities will you have?    <ul><li>Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required</li><li>Maintain a portfolio of billing attorneys.</li><li>Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests.</li><li>Process write-offs following Firm policy.</li><li>Ability to handle a high volume of complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, preparation of electronic bills).</li><li>Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients.</li><li>Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required.</li><li>Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.</li><li>Work with applications team to create and implement new billing formats.</li><li>Create and distribute monthly reports.</li><li>Adhere to Firm billing policies.</li><li>Utilize computerized accounting and payables software programs (CMS, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.</li><li>Ensure strict confidentiality at all times. </li><li>Assist with special projects, other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree, or equivalent work experience</li><li>1-3 or more years hands-on billing experience in a law firm</li><li>CMS, Elite, Javelan (or equivalent accounting software) experience</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office</li><li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize</li><li>Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently</li><li>Ability to show strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to perform at high levels in a dynamic ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands</li><li>Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative</li><li>Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings</li></ul>Who is Orrick?
