EDUCATION: • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics required CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: • National Certification as a Medical Technologist, Molecular Diagnostic Technologist, Molecular Technologist, Molecular Biology, or Cytogenetics required • State license where required (CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MT, NV, NY, ND, RI, TN, WV) EXPERIENCE: • 2 years experience if certified as a Molecular Technologist. • Adheres to department policy with regards to quality control and quality assurance for laboratory testing and equipment performance including, but not limited to: running of controls, performance of maintenance, documentation, evaluation of information, identifying outliers or unacceptable results/outcomes, taking corrective action as required and escalating to department leadership when unable to resolve.
