Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, medication administration, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, IV vasopressors, neurological and CVA care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, management of multisystem organ dysfunction, 12-lead EKG/ECG, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage. Required to work weekends, which may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs, including at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle.
