This position is typically performed in a maintenance hangar and outdoor flight line environment, requiring physical movements and postures associated with on-aircraft/equipment activities, including climbing, standing, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking, and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions. The Aircraft Mechanic, ALSS (AME) performs on- and off-aircraft maintenance on egress and environmental systems, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, launch and recovery, corrosion control, and inspection with minimal supervision.
