Certification: Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or one of the following: Cued Speech TEC Unit certification, American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (ACCI) Level 4 or above, Education Sign Skills Evaluation - Interpreter (ESSES) Level 4 or above, or Educational Interpreter Performance Evaluation (EIPA) Level 4 or above. Interpreting & Communication Access: Interpret manually and orally for deaf and hard of hearing students in classroom and small-group settings, matching the language and intent of the speaker to the student's receptive communication level as outlined in their IEP.
