Patients over the age of 12 years may be admitted to this unit; however the average age is 65.Most common types of patients admitted to 4 North include patients with respiratory conditions, fever, dehydration, renal failure, electrolyte imbalance, gastrointestinal conditions, post CVA, wound infection, orthopedic cases and general surgical cases. Assists patients with nutritional needs ie passing and collecting food trays, feeding patients, providing fresh water every shift, assist with maintenance of special diets and between meal nourishment.
