<div><strong>Financial Analyst</strong></div><div> </div><div><strong>Johnson City, TN</strong></div><div> </div><p><strong>Position Summary</strong><strong></strong></p><p>General Shale, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of brick, masonry siding, and outdoor hardscape products, is seeking a Financial Analyst for our corporate office in Johnson City, TN.</p><p>The Financial Analyst position is within the Planning and Analysis department and will be working closely with Accounting, Sales and Production management, and other departments to transform analysis for the company. This role is highly analytical and Excel-heavy, producing management reports and variance analysis for a portfolio that includes retail, commercial, storage, and multifamily housing using Yardi and QuickBooks. The position also provides backup support to Property Accountants during month-end and quarter-end close and tax season to help meet deadlines and maintain reporting quality.

<h5>Accounting Analyst </h5><p>No recruiters, please. This is an on-site position in Eastern TN (not remote or hybrid). </p><p>The Accounting Analyst supports the Director of Accounting with special projects, process improvements, and reporting enhancements. This role is highly analytical and Excel-heavy, producing management reports and variance analysis for a portfolio that includes retail, commercial, storage, and multifamily housing using Yardi and QuickBooks. The position also provides backup support to Property Accountants during month-end and quarter-end close and tax season to help meet deadlines and maintain reporting quality. </p><h5>Key Responsibilities </h5><ul><li>Support the Director of Accounting on special projects (process improvements, system/reporting enhancements, audit readiness). </li><li>Identify ways to improve efficiency, automate manual work, and strengthen documentation. </li><li>Help improve Yardi workflows, reporting, and data consistency. </li><li>Assist with testing and rollout of new templates, reports, and process changes; support other team members as needed. </li><li>Maintain process documentation and SOPs. </li></ul><ul><li>Prepare recurring and ad hoc leadership reporting, including portfolio rollups, key metrics, and close summaries. </li><li>Perform monthly/quarterly trend and variance analysis; explain key drivers clearly. </li><li>Build and maintain Excel models, templates, and dashboards. </li><li>Pull data, analyze results, and present findings for ad hoc requests. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide backup support during month-end/quarter-end close (review reconciliations, help resolve reconciling items, assist with overflow tasks). </li></ul><h5>Qualifications </h5><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting. </li><li>6+ years overall accounting experience; 3+ years property accounting experience (mixed portfolio preferred). Mixed portfolio includes: multifamily housing, commercial, storage, retail, and manufacturing. </li><li>Strong understanding of close, reconciliations, and internal controls. </li><li>Yardi experience. </li><li>Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS; Power Query preferred). </li></ul><h5>Key Competencies </h5><ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ownership and follow-through </li><li>Able to manage competing deadlines </li><li>Clear communication </li><li>Process improvement mindset </li><li>Collaborative, service-oriented approach </li></ul>
