Specific duties include: (1) developing, implementing, and managing animal health and welfare, including administering vaccinations of sows and piglets, examining animals to detect symptoms of illness or injury, and treating sick, injured, or lame animals; (2) developing, implementing, and managing animal reproduction programs, including performing artificial insemination, detecting heat and pregnancy, selecting animals for farrow, monitoring/assisting sows during labor, and analyzing reproductive efficiencies; (3) as necessary, euthanizing animals using company-approved techniques; (4) developing, evaluating, and managing daily activities and processes related to iso-wean pig production including gilt development, breeding, gestation, and farrowing; (5) performing timely and accurate recordkeeping of animal health and reproduction activities; (6) maintaining biosecurity policies and procedures.
