Control Devices, LLC ("Control Devices" or "CD") is a leading designer & manufacturer of high-quality flow control valves, condensate removal traps, related components & accessories serving the compressed air, pressure washer, vehicle systems, fire protection, specialty gas, & the industrial, agricultural & food service float valve markets. This position is responsible to inspect and test various parts made in the Machine Shop or Assembly areas using various inspection/testing tools such as calipers, micrometers, ring/plug gauges, etc.

Position Title: Quality Inspector - Machine ShopDepartment: QualityLocation: Fenton, MOReports To: Quality ManagerClassification: Hourly – Non-ExemptSchedule: 1st Shift, Monday - FridayPosition Summary:This position is responsible to inspect and test various parts made in the Machine Shop or Assembly areas using various inspection/testing tools such as calipers, micrometers, ring/plug gauges, etc. Essential Job Duties:<ul><li>Perform first article and in-process inspections per control plans/inspection plans, document results, and make start-up decisions.</li><li>Identify, contain, and document all defective/suspect product.</li><li>Operate precision measuring instruments in accordance with approved procedures.</li><li>Interpret visual and dimensional quality criteria to operators.</li><li>Verify, index, file, and retrieve quality records.</li><li>Participate in problem solving activities.</li><li>Keep work area clean.</li><li>Report incidents and injuries to Supervisor/Manager immediately.</li><li>Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them.</li><li>Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures.</li><li>Wear applicable personal protective equipment.</li><li>Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction.</li><li>Keeps tools clean and operational by following manufacturer's instructions; report any need of repairs.</li><li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.</li><li>Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.</li><li>Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.</li></ul>Required Education:<ul><li>High School Diploma/GED Equivalent</li></ul>Required Experience/Skills:<ul><li> At least 2 years' experience in operations and/or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li> Must be able to read and understand blueprints.</li><li> Must be able to use and read various inspection/testing tools such as calipers, micrometers, ring/plug gauges, etc. </li><li> Proficient use of basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.</li><li> Basic computer knowledge - ability to access/compose email and use engineering computer programs to access information.</li><li> Attention to detail.</li><li> Excellent vision.</li><li> Quality focused.</li><li> Safety focused.</li><li> Ability to use testing equipment.</li><li> Ability to lift up to 35lbs.</li></ul>About Control Devices, LLCControl Devices, LLC ("Control Devices" or "CD") is a leading designer & manufacturer of high-quality flow control valves, condensate removal traps, related components & accessories serving the compressed air, pressure washer, vehicle systems, fire protection, specialty gas, & the industrial, agricultural & food service float valve markets.
