Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Supervise and assist in evaluating special education staff, including mentoring new teachers and support staff within substantially separate programs.
The Assistant Director is responsible for lending assistance to the Director in managing all aspects of the food service program, but in particular the Assistant Director will have a special focus on recipe development that appeals to age groups PK-12 and execution of meals with locally sourced and fresh ingredients. As a visible leadership figure and role model, the Assistant Director collaborates closely with University partners, including Boston University Police Department (BUPD), the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, Student Health Services, and academic units to ensure prompt and thorough responses to community issues. The Assistant Director chairs departmental committees, assumes responsibility for University-wide residential program assignments, and serves on the Residence Life administrator on-call rotation, requiring availability for evening, weekend, and campus-wide urgent matters.
