Upon contract award, the Director assumes leadership of the integration and transition effort, working across customer organizations, program leadership, incumbent personnel, subcontractors, and internal corporate functions to establish the workforce, business processes, financial controls, systems, communications, governance, and operational infrastructure necessary for successful contract performance. The Director typically becomes engaged with strategic opportunities during the late stages of capture and proposal development to provide operational insight, identify transition and staffing requirements, assess execution risks, and help ensure that proposed solutions and commitments can be effectively implemented following award.
